If you're following your U.S. immigration process or thinking of starting one, you've likely heard of the Visa Bulletin.
The June 2025 edition brought great news for those applying through employment-based visa categories - especially the EB-2.
We know this topic can be confusing, so in this article we’ll explain what the Visa Bulletin is, how to read it, and what the latest updates mean in practice for those pursuing a Green Card. Read until the end!
Table of Contents:
What is the Visa Bulletin and how to read it?
The Visa Bulletin is a monthly publication from the U.S. Department of State. It announces which priority dates are currently being processed by visa category and country of origin - in other words, who is eligible to move forward in the immigration process, such as adjusting status or receiving a Green Card.
It’s essential for those already in the process or planning to apply, especially those dependent on a priority date (like EB2, EB3, F1, F2, and others).
The bulletin is divided into two main charts:
Dates for Filing: tells who can submit documents to USCIS
Final Action Dates: tells who can have their application approved (Green Card issued)
Right now, the Final Action Date is the most important. If your Priority Date is on or before the date listed, you can move forward with your case.

June 2025 Visa Bulletin Updates
The June 2025 bulletin brought significant progress. Focusing on employment-based categories:
EB2 moved forward 3 months and 23 days, now set at October 15, 2023
EB1 remains current, meaning no delays
EB3 advanced 39 days, and EB3 Unskilled moved 31 days
This means that anyone with a Priority Date on or before October 15, 2023, and currently in the U.S., can file for Adjustment of Status - one of the most crucial steps toward obtaining a Green Card.
What this change reveals about U.S. immigration in 2025?
Despite tougher political rhetoric, the Visa Bulletin progress reinforces one key idea: the U.S. is still open to skilled immigration.
The current administration acknowledges the value of foreign professionals with solid backgrounds, technical expertise, and the potential to boost the American economy.
Even with increased scrutiny, the continued movement of EB-2 and EB-1 shows the U.S. has not shut its doors - it's just being more selective. In other words, there’s still space - and interest - in welcoming professionals who bring value.
This update also signals that the immigration system, while complex, continues to respond to real workforce needs, especially in healthcare, engineering, tech, and education.
For qualified Brazilians and other professionals, this is a clear sign: a legal and well-structured immigration path is still very much worth pursuing.
Why you should file your petition as soon as possible
Many people make the mistake of waiting for the backlog to clear before starting their process. But in reality: your Priority Date is determined when your petition is filed.
Those who file earlier move up the line sooner. A delay today could mean years of waiting in the future. If you haven’t filed yet, this Visa Bulletin update could be your sign to move forward.
Remember: the difference between dreaming and achieving lies in timely action.
